Teacher Appreciation Blog Hop!

Hi everyone! Welcome and thank you for joining us at Jen’s Craft Corner Teacher Appreciation Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Amber over at  www.amberscraftsandstuff.com  But if you just happened to stumble upon this hop, please be sure to go back to Jen’s blog at www.jenscraftcorner.com so you don't miss any of the wonderful projects we have to share. I hope you enjoy! :)

So when wondering about all a teacher is and does I kept thinking, "I can't imagine being responsible for a whole classroom of little ones when my two and half year old son exhausts me all on his own!" LOL! Seriously, I don't know how they do it... I then started to think about what a teacher would like to receive as a thank you gift. Well naturally, a break from taking care of the kids! ;) But since I can't give that, I decided to make this cute little sign they can hang while at home (or anywhere else they are off duty) to reflect that thought in a silly way, and hopefully bring a chuckle or two to those who see it :)
I made this pink and green one to go in my craft corner since I loved how the other two came out so much :)
Here they are:
This one is a gift for my cousin Yvette who is a teacher. She's always got a lot of cute sayings around her house so I think it will fit in nicely. I hope she likes it :) I really love how the cardstock transforms the chipboard into a faux wooden plaque :)
And this one I decided to make to give away as part of my blog candy for this bloghop! :)
That's right! One lucky person chosen by random.org will win this sign, along with a giftcard to their choice of Michael's or Joanns :) All you have to do is leave a comment on this post (be sure to include contact info in case you're the winner). New friends are always welcome, but not required :)

Recipe:
Using the CDS, a cut from the Storybook cartridge, and chipboard from a super sized box of Airheads, I cut the bases for the signs.
I used the same cut file for two pieces of each of the background pieces.
I printed the sentiment from my computer on white cardstock, then used ultra sticky adhesive and ATG to glue the pieces together.
I punched holes and set eyelets on the sides and top of each sign using my crop-a-dile, then tied some ribbon through to finish it off (it was just about a yard of ribbon for each sign).
