Stylish Blog Award :)

What a great weekend it has been! :) It started off a great Saturday spent with my favorite little guy, and receiving two new cartridges in the mail that I'd been waiting for :) Then I got to spend  today in Ocala with my best cousin Yvette and her adorable daughter Olivia crafting and shopping :) The icing on the cake was coming home to find out I'd been given the Stylish Blogger Award from Georgiana over at http://www.carsonscrictutcreations.blogspot.com :) Thank you so much for choosing me as one of your eight Georgiana!! :) I've never heard of it before, but it sure does make me feel special! :) lol

So, when you accept the award you must:

                           1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this
                           2. Share 8 things about yourself
                           3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
                           4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards

Here are 8 things about me:

1. I am one of the gazillion people who got married on 7-7-07 :)
2. I have a son who was born one week before my one year wedding anniversary
3. Before becoming a stay at home mom I was a nuclear medicine tech at Shands Jacksonville
4. I have a bachelors degree in biology from Barry University
5. I have been skydiving twice
6. I am definitely on Team Edward :) lol (I had to do it Yvette!)
7. I have a super cute Shiba Inu named She-Ra and an all black house cat named Mr. Jax
8. I don't like scary, gory, or violent movies

Well, I thought being so new to blogging it'd be easy to narrow it down to just eight, but I've gotta say I don't think I've come across one blog that I didn't like! lol So it was a bit harder than expected. Anyways, here they are in no particular order:

Huge thank you again to Georgiana for granting me the Stylish Blogger Award :) And thank you to all of the incredibly talented women out there in blogland sharing your creations and lending inspiration :)

More Than Favors Wacky Wed #16 challenge

Ok, so first I have to say a huge thank you to Georgiana over at Carson's Cricut Creations for telling me about the awesome prices at cricutmachine.com! :)  Thanks to their great prices I was able to get two new cartridges this month! :) I chose Simply Charming and Storybook, and they are both SO cute!! :) I just love them!
Here's the first card I've made. I'm giving it to my Grandmother-In-Law and entering it in Paula's Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at More Than Favors. The only rules were that whatever you made be Fall/Thanksgiving themed :) I meant to emboss the background brown printed paper on the front, so since I forgot I embossed the inside of the card. I think it came out ok. I know she will at least love the little scarecrows :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #51 & Made by Momo #16 challenge

I made this card for two different challenges. The first, Momo's Tuesday challenge, said to make anything with a turkey on it.
The rules for the Cricut Cardz challenge were to make a Thanksgiving card using only the colors blue, brown, orange, yellow and white.
I used the Create-A-Critter cartridge for the turkey and leaves (turkey at 1 3/4 inches, leaves at 1 3/4, 1 1/2, and 1 1/4 inches). I dressed up the background orange color using the swirly leaves embossing folder for the Cuttlebug, and the small polka dots folder for the blue strip. The letters for the "Happy Thanksgiving" saying are stickers I found laying around.

CPS # 193 part 3 Challenge Card

The sketch for this challenge was basically a square card, with a circle in the center, topped with a rectangular shape. Like I said earlier, I've got a ton of Christmas cards to make for family, so I went with one of those and came up with this. As you can see I used a lot of embossing to dress it up. I do love my Cuttlebug :)

Color Throwdown # 119 Challenge

For this weeks color throwdown challenge we had to use the colors pear pizzazz, cajun craze, and early espresso. Since I've got a ton of Christmas cards I need to make for family I decided to go with that. I used the cajun craze for the card itself, layered the front with a snowflake embossed scrap of pear pizzazz, then cut out a 2.5 " Mr. and Mrs. Clause from the Paperdoll Dress Up cartridge. I added a "Merry Christmas" raised stamp with an early espresso bow for a little embellishment.

Gift Bags

Well it has been a busy two weeks to say the least! I haven't had much free time to craft since my to-do list is never ending (at least until the holidays are over). The one project I have been working on is the Christmas ornament exchange with some mommy friends from Jacksonville. The ornaments were done, but I thought they were kind of funky looking (and that's funky in a bad way), so I decided to start over. They're about half way done, and I'll post pics of those when they're ready.
I did manage to get all twelve of the gift bags for the ornaments done :) I decided on pink for the girls and green for the boys. I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the bags, and Create-A-Critter for the reindeer, Christmas lights, and the Christmas tree.

Luau Themed Banner

This a banner I made with my cousin Yvette for our aunt who's getting married later this month (it's not hung perfectly, I just did a quick hang up for the picture). They are having a Hawaiian/Luau themed ceremony, so she asked us to make it bright and fun. We really hope she likes it! :)

Time To Craft #113 challenge card

I know it's nothing spectacular, but the only rules for this challenge was that it be made "quick and cute". I made it using scrap paper I had left from other projects, and it only took me seven minutes start to finish :) I cut the sun (the cute part) from the Create-A-Critter cartridge, embossed the orange background with the swirly Cuttlebug folder, and added the "sending you sunshine and laughter" stamp.  I may be biased, but I think it came out pretty cute :)

Made By Momo & Paper Cutz #66 Challenges Card

This is a 5 x 7 card I decided to make for two different challenges this week.
The first is Made By Momo's Tuesday Challenge. The rules were anything goes, so long as it includes some kind of embossing.
The second challenge was for Paper Cutz. What they were looking for was a Get Well card with either a stamp or a cutout of something that flies.
Everything was cut from the Create-A-Critter cartridge (the "vase" is actually the fish bowl cut in Shadow mode), and I used the Cuttlebug for the three different types of embossing :)

Picture Perfect Challenge Card

I was browsing through some challenges and came across the Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge. The rules were anything goes, so long as you use these four colors (pear pizzaz, cajun craze, pretty in pink, and basic grey). Since I needed to make a thank you card for my neighbors anyway, I decided to just use the colors and make it a two for one ;) The basket is from the Doodle Charms cartridge, and the flowers are a mix from Doodle Charms and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridges. I used the Cuttlebug's polka dot folder to emboss the green background, and two spare buttons to dress up the basket :)

Bird Bonanza Challenge Card

This is my favorite so far for our moving cards (again, I blocked out our address for security purposes). I thought it came out cute so I decided to enter it in the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week. (The only rule was you had to use some kind of bird). I used the baby basket from the DoodleCharms cartridge as the nest and used the Cuttlebug to emboss it, and the birds are from the Create-A-Critter cartridge and represent my husband, me and our son :)

For Jeff and Katie

This is a congratulations card I made for a friend who recently got married. She wore pink sneakers under her wedding dress which is why I made them pink  here :)
